Tjungu Palya means working together in a good and happy way. At our Aboriginal art centre, Pitjantjatjara artists from the three communities of Kanpi, Nyapari and Watarru in the APY Lands come together to paint to earn money to support their families.
Whether that of senior custodians, mid career established artists or fresh new talents, the sophisticated works of Tjungu Palya’s 20 + artists are integrally linked to their homeland communities and keenly sought by leading collections worldwide.
Rich in cultural integrity, the glowing paintings of Tjungu Palya celebrate the ancient creation stories of the artists’ Pitjantjatjara ancestors in contemporary form.
